Hello, i want to patch by myself home assistant to support unix socket with mqtt mpp-solar can connect with unix sockets too?

I'm trying to imagine what data you might send to homeassistant via socket and my cogs are failing me on how that interface may work. Does Homeassistant have a socket implementation to ingest data from sources in place? I'll Google of coarse too, just curious how you invision this.

home assistant have the socket support but isn't merged so need a patch to build with that for the mqtt client to connect with unix socket my thing is to don't use anymore tcp but unix socket so mqtt broker with unix socket and mpp solar connect to the brocker with unix socket and home assistant too

Oh okay, I wasn't imagining using mqtt in that way and thought maybe HA had something in place or something through HACS. I image it wouldn't be terribly difficult to put in place a check for a file path for a broker, and assume a socket, and create the function for it, but I need something to test against. Is there any broker you are aware of that implements use of sockets? I have never even looked at how the addon in HA actually makes its connection, just assumed it was tcp out of the container.

About mqtt-broker you can use ecplise-mosquitto or flashmq for the patch you can see that merge: home-assistant/core#144477 (it isn't merged but gonna work 100%) pay attention mpp-solar use paho in theory paho have the support for unix socket
