translating a computed variable reference?

I'm looking to use the translations file to look up lists of options for a form - hopefully a bit less reentry when they change..

sample

import strings from '../../translations/en/translations.json'
export default {
    computed: {
        getLocationOptions() {
            const locTypeSrc = Object.keys(strings.case.general.location.type.list) //set of keys below this path
            const locOptions = locTypeSrc.map(function(x){
                return $t('case.general.location.type.list.' + x);
            })
            return locOptions;
        }
}

is what I am trying to do but that is breaking... if I remove the $t() then it happily outputs all the paths
if I try and use t() then it I get Uncaught (in promise) ReferenceError: t is not defined

ok worked it out from the api :) v-t binding can take a path and return the text
