Error in Git UI when performing discard

On the latest main branch of git-source-control. When performing a 'Discard' via Git UI an error is generated after a few seconds. The discard does seem to actually get performed: the file disappears and appears in the discarded files screen, however the error is unsightly particularly in Studio.

Behaviour in Studio is that a few seconds after clicking discard the following error is generated, there is no apparent difference in clicking yes or no here:

In VS Code nothing is presented to the user however an error is visible in the developer console:

Upon further investigation this appears to be related to the amount of files in the workspace and seemingly occurs with versions as far back as 2.7.1

The circumstances that lead to this is that I was using Export All which resulted in over 500 LUT files being updated with just whitespace changes (I believe due to the repo being exported first on Windows but now we're using Linux ongoing). Repeatedly discarding and restoring subsets of files resulted in the error stopping at around 71 files in the workspace.
