Connectors for Steppers should be type XH or Dupont not tyco MTA and also straight not 90 degrees

since Stepper Drivers have got XH 6 pin connectors and there are two types of cables , but none of them are using tyco MTA.
here are the corresponding pictures:

Connector Dupont, does not have securing , jut like a jumper.

and the never beeing used MTA, with securing , compatible with dupont but without securing:

Also the footprint is getting bigger using 90 degree connectors.
just use the straight ones ....

i am using XH for all connectors on my RAMPS-FD also..... just because of the securing feature, the connectors wont get loose, but they are a little bit wider....JST XH 4 pin is about 12.4 mm width.

I have plenty of stepper motors with dupont connector and this is not secure in XH - the male pins of XH are too short to firmly hold female dupont.

I've used XH on my GT2560 and Dupont on the RAMPS. While the idea of XH is nice I'm personally a fan of Dupont. They're way more accessible, can be rotated to invert motor direction (useful for setup) and I've never had any issues with them working their way loose.
I can see where XH is more useful in ensuring polarity but if you're splashing out for a Revolve board there's a good chance you're not going to be stupid enough to make that mistake anyway.

Use whatever connector floats your boat, dupone, XH, whatever. But having the pins out at 90 degrees makes it harder to plug in, given that boards are usually accessible in only 1 direction (up) and increases the possibility of shorting unused connections.
