GP e-HealthBox size

Dear,

We conducted few transmissions tests of json files to a GP.
5 files were submitted to his eHealtBox with an embedded pdf lab report.
Files sizes ranged from 61Ko to 749Ko.

These 5 files occupied more than 20% of the available size of his e-HealthBox (size seems to be limited to 10Mb for all GP?!).

Has this issue already been identified and addressed?
Who is responsible for the eHealthBow size allocation for the GP?

The mailbox size is implemented in that way, that a successfully sent message never gets lost. As soon as the GP starts emptying his mailbox, new messages will start coming in (which were kept in a separate queue).

The size of the GP mailbox will not be modified, because it is a motivation for the GP to empty his box.

Be sure when emptying your mailbox, you also remove the message from the thrash bin.

So, as a resumé: If the GP mailbox is full, incoming messages are kept elsewhere, and are not reachable for the GP until he has made place in his eHealthBox. No successfully sent messages get lost.

I don't want to speak for them but i find it a bit "harsh" to force them to empty their mailbox and their bin everyday.
From a more clincal perspective, this will also delay the reception of further messages and/or results which could be hightly relevants for patients...

For information, you are not alone with this issue. I have opened 3 tickets on the eHealth's platform for this and insist to increase the size. But it is always refused.
We have complaints of our clients everyday... it never stops.
We are on production for 1 month and we are thinking of a rollback because of this.

I the this issue is still opened.
Following my comment on May, a case was created on the eHealth platform: ESI-1161 – Fw: [hl7-be/lab] GP e-HealthBox size (Issue #343).
This case is now marked as Done without any comments. The topic was discussed again today during the monthly DigiReLab meeting, and eHealth confirmed their position: no increase is planned.

I was indeed present at the meeting and followed the discussions with interest. I clearly understood that the messages are not lost and that it will simply be enough to empty the bin to retrieve the new messages in the correct order. The example of the BCR is not quite comparable, as they only receive a few results (although they do receive a lot of orders,).

As for me, given this constraint, I believe that the format switch will not make the daily work of general practitioners any easier. This issue is a barrier to deployment. I will wait for the Royal Decree to be published and to make this procedure mandatory before making the switch. This issue should be managed by the eHealthBox administrators — not by the laboratories.

Indeed Gautier, you understood correctly. The so-called "limit" is a limit on visibility. The messages are never lost, they are just not visible, and more important not accessible, until the "head" of the list is removed. Each message removed from the visible part of the list will allow the first "invisible" message to become visible.
