Question about initial perspective

Hello, I am trying this player with a movie, and it seems to work well with one exception: the video starts with the "view" 180 degrees from where I'd like it to be. I have to turn around in order to see the main object of the movie. Is there a parameter to control this? Thanks!

Same problem here. Have you solved it? My video, with the motion control, start always looking on the ground, no matter how the device is rotated. This make really unconfortable play video because I need to force the user to play the video always with the device looking down parallel to the ground

EDIT:
solved my problem commenting line in HTYGLKVC.m:
[attitude multiplyByInverseOfAttitude:self.referenceAttitude];

I don't know if this can help also glappen, Maybe he just want to set a new correction to the rotation X or rotation Y

Also having this issue. No matter where the device is pointing, the video always starts looking at the ground. Need to drag the screen to fix the positioning.

Don't have this issue in the SlateVideo360 version however.

I still have an issue where the video is facing the wrong direction by 180° though, any ideas?

Hi @SteveEdson - I was able to fix the 180 degree issue by adding this in HTYGLKVC.m:

modelViewMatrix = GLKMatrix4RotateY(modelViewMatrix, ES_PI);

I added it right below this line, around line 407:

        modelViewMatrix = GLKMatrix4RotateX(modelViewMatrix, ROLL_CORRECTION);

It rotates it by 180 degrees (PI Radians)

Yeah man, I think that I have solved also this problem.
I am not sure because I have modified so hard the library, but I think the fix still work.

In the method
- (void)update
under the line

modelViewMatrix = GLKMatrix4RotateX(modelViewMatrix, ROLL_CORRECTION);

put this:
modelViewMatrix = GLKMatrix4RotateY(modelViewMatrix, ES_PI);

When i Use the player in Portrait mode, it react really weird - like if it was moving / pushing by itself .. . did you notice that ? Anyway to fix this ?

About the 180ª problem:

E.g. the moment you hit the demo button the video gets associated with the device’s rotation.
The two edges (left/right) of the 360º movie are considered to be the center point that gets connected to your device’s current view direction.
So just put yourself into the right position when hitting the demo button...

And as for the “ground-view” problem...

Just start the video with your device’s surface flat/parallel to the ground.
The video wil lock correctly to any position now!

These hints should make any alteration to the original code a piece of cake...

Well maybe not helpful for user but for you guys tracing your hooks where to change the code ;-)

Just wanted to convey the neither the vertical nor the horizontal positioning is somehow random...
