Autossh enabled not connecting on start up

Hi. In my lanturtle in autossh when I click connect it work. The autossh is enabled to start on boot. I try desabling and reenabling. Everytime it's not connecting by itself. Any idea how to fix this.

I disabled sshfs. And it works not.
It's like the bump each other.
Any idea why and how to fix.

The AutoSSH-on-boot issue is usually caused by a race condition — the module tries to connect before the network interface is fully up.

Fixes:

1. Add a startup delay:
Edit the AutoSSH init script:

vi /etc/init.d/autossh

Add a delay before the connection attempt:

start() {
    sleep 15  # Wait for network
    /usr/bin/autossh ...
}

2. Check for network before connecting:

# Add to the start function
until ping -c 1 -W 2 your-server.com > /dev/null 2>&1; do
    sleep 5
done
/usr/bin/autossh ...

3. SSHFS conflict (you mentioned this):
SSHFS and AutoSSH can conflict because they both try to establish SSH connections on boot. If they use the same SSH key or target the same server, there can be port/socket conflicts.

Fix: Stagger their startup:

# In /etc/rc.local or init.d
/etc/init.d/autossh start &
sleep 10
/etc/init.d/sshfs start &

4. Verify SSH key permissions:

ls -la ~/.ssh/
# Should be:
# ~/.ssh/ = 700
# ~/.ssh/id_rsa = 600
# ~/.ssh/authorized_keys = 644
chmod 700 ~/.ssh
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/id_rsa

5. Check AutoSSH config:

# Verify the autossh config
uci show autossh
# Make sure host, port, and key are correct

6. Monitor the log:

# Watch autossh output on boot
logread -f | grep autossh

The root cause is likely that SSHFS was binding to the same port or using a socket that AutoSSH needed. Disabling SSHFS fixed it because it eliminated the conflict. To run both, use different ports and add delays.
