Rust and Compile not working.

When running a Compile on a new rust package, Recipes fails to make a Recipe not able to determine the Recipe, this may be do to rust not be fully set up for compile ? , in my testing this is any base rust package when running compile.

the step use where sudo MakeRecipe Soar 0.9.1 https://github.com/pkgforge/soar/archive/refs/tags/v0.9.1.tar.gz then just did the Compile when i get the error of Soar 0.9.1 - Unsupported recipe_type in recipe '/Data/Compile/Recipes/Soar/0.9.1/Recipe'.. this happends when any rust base package when runing MakeRecipe on rust.

I'd have to start up my gobo machine and try this myself, maybe I could get it going.

But issue no 1 is: The "proper" way to install rust packages on GoboLinux (eventually) would be to use cargo via Alien.

The problem is: our Alien tool does not yet support cargo:) Support for cargo would have to be added around here https://github.com/gobolinux/AlienVFS/tree/master/gobo/alienvfs.

Issue no 2 (the actual issue regarding your logs): The recipe file on your end is incomplete, it is missing the recipe type - that's because MakeRecipe could not recognise any of the known from the sources.

Since soar seems to be shipped as a static binary, you could workaround this by doing these steps manually, for instance you could define recipe_tope=manifest and copy the necessary files yourself, see https://wiki.gobolinux.org/Recipes/The-Recipe-File/Recipe-types/index.html#manifest for how manfest works.

On archlinux' aur pkgbuild of soar only one binary is copied https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=soar-bin#n25. So copy it to bin/ using manifest.

Until we have added proper support for instlaling cargo packages (via Alien) it's probably not worth the hassle.

At least I personally haven't figured out a good way to compile rust stuff either atm.
