Alternate ‘fl’ Ligature

Some typefaces have the f’s crossbar intersect with a following lowercase ‘i’ but not an ‘l’. I know that the ‘f’ intersecting with the ‘l’ is how it was in the original typeface, but can you add an optional feature to change this behaviour? I like the way the typeface Minion Pro does ‘f’ ligatures.
