@Noki and me would suggest adding more locations like

  • 9.9.9.9 (as it is our default DNS right now)
  • The Gateways

We should also try to setup a monitoring for ping drops for backbone locations as an indicator for routing issues

The documentation of collectd says it should be collected automaticly

Whenever the read function of the plugin is called, it submits the average latency, the standard deviation and the drop rate for each host.

I know that we collect it. What I mean it that we try to setup alerts that look for locations with a high drop rate as an indicator for issues.

Pinging the direct neighbors with their olsr hosts would also be a nice addition.
