Does this update to the length of resource IDs affect the payments app? This is an email from GoCardless on 5/28/2025:

Hi there,
We’re writing to tell you we will be increasing the length of resource IDs from 25th August 2025.
This change is happening to enhance the reliability and scalability of our platform as we serve a growing number of merchants globally, and it will not affect your payment collections or payouts. The change will mean that if your integration currently has resource ID length restrictions, you will need to update your system to avoid any disruptions.
What is changing?
Starting 25th August 2025, all newly created GoCardless resource IDs (which you currently use for Payments, Mandates, Payouts, Billing Requests etc) will now be up to 32 characters long. Any resource IDs created before 25th August 2025 will not change, and the existing format of resource prefixes, such as “PM” for payments, and character set will remain the same as this is a backwards compatible change.
Key dates and actions
If your integration can already process and/or store resource IDs up to 32 characters long, you do not need to take any action.
To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend reviewing your integration and taking the following actions:
Ensure the technical team managing your GoCardless integration is aware of this update.
Identify parts of your integration that validate or restrict the length of GoCardless resource IDs, and modify any such logic to allow for up to 32-character IDs.
Ensure that your storage systems can accommodate ID fields up to 32 characters.
Verify that any user-facing elements displaying GoCardless IDs can handle the increased length.
We’ll be making the change in our Sandbox environment on 4th July 2025 so that you’re able to test your integration with these longer resource IDs ahead of time.
We will continue to provide updates as we move closer to these changes. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact GoCardless Support.
Best regards,
The GoCardless team
