Hey, so i have created a repository (private for me currently) which will be an unofficial pangolin cli plugin for unraid (and i am planning a newt plugin aswell).
For these plugins i want to embed the pangolin image (this one https://raw.githubusercontent.com/fosrl/pangolin/main/public/logo/pangolin_orange_96x96.png) in the repositories.
From what i could read, both images dont have a header (as they are images) and from a copyright standpoint the AGPL-3.0 license "should" handle this properly, as long as my project stays AGPL-3.0 comaptible. But this is a bit murky, as this is a logo asset, not source code. On the other hand there is Trademark rights, as fosrl owns the trademark and therefore the full rights on the asset file.
My question now here is, to the people of fosrl, if i am allowed to use your logo in my projects (so for now for the pangolin cli project and probably for the template repository that unraid needs, including a possible pangolin newt plugin repository in the future) legally and from a trademark standpoint?
Just to be sure, i will add a notice to the readme, that the logo asset is owned and trademarked by fosrl and that the plugin is an unofficial, community maintained plugin that is not affiliated with fosrl.
This probably needs answer from @oschwartz10612
