Migration to a new async runtime?

Since async-std has been officially discontinued, are there any plans to migrate to a new async runtime instead? I personally would love it if tokio is considered because of the massive ecosystem (and my personal crates) surrounding it.

You can use tokio by enabling feature flag in your Cargo.toml:

Edition 2024 should default to resolver = "3" but I tried after explicitly setting resolver to 2 and 3 anyway and got the same result

I think that these deps are good as long as async-std dep have tokio1 enabled. Does fluvio fail to run on a tokio environment after these features were enabled?

Fluvio has no dep to async-std so should work on any runtime that supported by fluvio-future.

Not at all! It runs well with and without the features. My concern lies with not being able to dicern whether or not it is using tokio runtime or a self contained async-std runtime. After a little digging around, I can see that after at async-global-executors deps, it is indeed using the tokio runtime.

Merely adding

fluvio-future = { version = "0.7.2", features = ["tokio1"] }

works wonders.
