Hello, my name is David Carmichael. I run a small software company that has been trading for around three years.
I have a broad range of skills in websites and web applications. I've been through a few languages over the years, starting on Visual Basic 6 and briefly using ColdFusion at one point, but landing on Python, as this was the primary language at my workplace at the time.
Most of my current work focuses on startup projects and proof of concept systems for companies looking to increase efficiency.
My new business strategy is to move away from freelancing for other companies and focus on building tools for small businesses to succeed. Flask is at the heart of that strategy. So I created an extension called Flask-BigApp to help speed up Flask application development times for this purpose.
Being involved in the community of the primary tool you use, I think, is essential; Giving back and adding to the work already done to improve is the foundation of many great products.
I want to help the Flask community in any way I can. My skill set is pretty flexible. Whether coding, writing docs, community moderation, or providing help.
I'm currently a moderator and very active in the r/Flask Discord Server.
