It seems as if RStudio server does a horrible job at freeing up memory. I had one process with empty (or cleared an gc'd) environment use up 60GB of RAM. Only thing that stopped that was manually quitting the session.
Not sure how to address that - but we should remind users to properly quit their sessions.
