Initial MeshEMS code was designed with dual-purpose - enable open source sub-metering and billing support for IEEE Smart Village OpenAMI solution and enable an open modbus gateway that uses SunSpec protocol to access meters, inverters, sensors, and other DER assets that are part of a micro grid.
