Wont open unless i use the terminal

As the title says, i used the AUR to install this package and it seems to say "Arctis Manager service is not available. Please connect the device first and try opening the app again." but if i type "arctis-manager" in the terminal it works.....

is this cause i did the AUR package? as i don't want the terminal open just for chat mix....

Hello @Voyager-99 , the official installer actually installs a user-level service which starts when the graphical interface is ready, and it requires udev to have the recognized the device.

First things first: do you have your base station connected to USB and correctly powered on? If you start the daemon, does it recognize the device? Before starting it, you should see it under /dev/steelseries-arctis, can you see it?

Had same problem.

Apparently the arctis-manager Shortcut starts the arctis-manager-launcher, which when executed shows the same error.
Editing the shortcut to start arctis-manager (remove the -launcher), now it works.

The launcher is used to call the daemon via DBUS. It's not a bug, but literally a feature :D

I'd contact the author of the aur package and try to sort this out.

I found that the AUR package didn't enable the service, you may need to do it manually

systemctl --user enable arctis-manager.service

On a new installation in a VM turned out that you still need to enable the service manually even on fedora. When I'll have time I'll:

• Make an Arch Linux official build
• Create a post-install script to enable the service (I have some doubts if you can enable a user systemd service cross-users, but I think it can be done)
