Custom templates keep defaulting to base template.

Each time I run any one of the npm commands that contains a custom template, it shows base template instead of the custom template, and not installing the custom template components.

i think this is a problem on the npm side but the documentation indeed needs to be updated: npm/cli#3136

From electron/forge#3662 (comment), it seems like alternate syntaxes work.
