Future of self-hosted Electric after the Databricks move?

I really like Electric. It's been working well for my app (TanStack DB + Electric + Neon, self-hosted since Electric Cloud wound down).

After the Databricks announcement and this week's Docker Hub outage (#4822), I'm trying to plan ahead.

Two questions:

1. Will the self-hosted sync engine keep getting regular releases and security fixes? Is there a maintenance commitment I can plan around?
2. The announcement says Electric will be building with Neon inside Databricks. Is a Databricks or Neon-native version of Electric planned? I'm already on Neon, so that could be a natural path for me.

On my side I'm adding an "Electric off" mode, where the app falls back to plain server reads, behind a single sync interface, so the app keeps running if anything goes wrong. If anyone has done something similar with TanStack DB, I'd love to hear how you approached it.
