Currently resource files can only be read; it would be useful to support writing as well. This would include the following:

Adding new resources
Modifying data, attributes, name, etc. of existing resources
Changing the type and/or ID of existing resources
Deleting existing resources
Creating new resource files
Modifying file attributes, header data, etc. of existing resource files
