Look through the GitHub issues for features. Anything tagged with "enhancement" and "help wanted" is open to whoever wants to implement it.
egit could always use more documentation, whether as part of the official egit docs, in docstrings, or even on the web in blog posts, articles, and such.
The best way to send feedback is to file an issue at https://github.com/datadlog/egit/issues.
If you are proposing a feature:
- Describe how it would work in detail.
- Keep the scope as little as possible to make implementation easy.
- Remember that this is a volunteer-driven effort, so any help is appreciated.

Before submitting a pull request, make sure it complies with the following guidelines:
- Tests should be included in the pull request.
- The docs should be updated if the pull request adds any functionality. Put your new feature in a function with a docstring and add it to the README.md feature list.
- The pull request should work for Python 3.9. Check https://github.com/datadlog/egit/actions and Check to see if the tests pass for the Python version.
