Installing pai-statusline causes this ROSE color to bleed. Claude Code Opus 4.5 first told me that's not possible and it's syntax highlighting from Claude Code itself. I turned that off and tried different themes and it didn't matter. Then I uninstalled pai-statusline and it went away. Then CC had ideas about unclosed escapes or 500+ escapes used by sparklines. It tried a few things for 20 minutes none of which worked.

For me, updating to MacOS Tahoe resolved this. I was already planning to do that update since 26.2 is out though so it wasn't a big deal to me. PAI and kitty terminal are working great on Tahoe. I'm on M2 Air 8GB RAM. Hope that helps give you atleast one potential solution.

Thanks for reporting this! We've been doing a major restructuring of PAI's core systems, including a complete redesign of the hook architecture (consolidated from 22 to ~19 hooks), a rewritten Algorithm (now v0.5.1 with PRD-based verification), removal of the observability system, and numerous path/configuration fixes.

This specific issue is addressed by those changes. We're targeting a v3.0 release soon that will include all of this. We appreciate your patience and your help in identifying these issues — it directly informed our redesign work. Stay tuned!

Thanks for reporting! The statusline was rewritten for v3.0 (now released) which should resolve the color bleed issue. Please upgrade to v3.0 — if you still see color issues, please open a new issue.

Reopening — the statusline still exists in v3.0 and the color escape sequence issue may persist. Needs verification.

Closing — verified in current codebase that ROSE color codes are properly reset after all uses. No color bleed detected in v4.0.x.
