Thank you for being part of the Obsidian Vault Intelligence community! This plugin exists to bring powerful, agentic AI capabilities to your notes—starting with Google Gemini, but with a clear path toward broader model support.

If you have an idea that would make this plugin better, we want to hear it. To keep our discussions productive and focused, please follow these ground rules and keep our core objectives in mind.

Our Objectives

When suggesting a feature, consider if it aligns with our primary goals:

• High-Performance AI: We want to leverage the best features of modern models (like multimodal support and tool use) to help you understand your vault.
• Provider Independent: While we launched with Gemini, our roadmap includes support for local models (Ollama) and any backend that follows standard AI APIs.
• Lightweight & Fast: We avoid "feature bloat." The plugin should stay responsive, even with large vaults and complex AI tasks.
• Open & Private: This is an MIT-licensed project. We prioritize workflows that give you control over your data and how it's processed.

Ground Rules

To help us review and implement your ideas efficiently, please follow these simple steps:

1. Search First: Before posting, check if someone else has already suggested a similar idea. If they have, give it a 👍 and add your thoughts to the existing thread!
2. One Feature Per Thread: If you have multiple unrelated ideas, please create separate discussions for each. This makes it easier for the community to vote and discuss.
3. Be Descriptive: "Make it better" is hard to implement. Tell us:
   • What is the problem or missing capability?
   • How would the new feature work?
   • Why would this be valuable for other Obsidian users?
4. Stay Constructive: We are building this for the community. Keep the conversation kind and encouraging.

Where to start?

Not sure what to suggest? We are currently interested in:

• Supporting new backends (like Ollama or OpenAI-compatible APIs).
• New Research Agent tools (e.g., enhanced web search, data visualization, etc.).
• UI/UX improvements for the chat sidebar and similar notes view.
