User Manual
Sidero is a simple web app that combines social media and exercise to create a platform where users can create exercises and workouts, add them to a weekly planner, and share them with friends, as well as view their friends' profiles to discover new exercises and workouts. With this app, users can stay motivated to workout and remain on track each week to complete certain workouts without forgetting their goals. The platform can be accessed at any time from any device with an internet browser by anyone, making it cross-platform compatible, and perfect for any type of user, from the avid gym-goer to the casual jogger.
Since Sidero is a web app, using it is super simple and installation free! Simply navigate to our webpage here and follow the steps below to get started.
Once on the webpage, you are prompted with a sign in page to get started by logging into your account.
If this is your first time using Sidero, then you will need to make an account, which can be done by clicking the sign up dialog underneath the "Sign In" button. Once clicked, you will be redirected to the sign up page, where you can create an account for free by filling out the necessary information, shown below.
After creating an account or logging in, you will be redirected to the default "Workouts" tab where you can find a weekly calendar view of your workouts by day, as well as tables of workouts, running exercises, and weight exercises.
While workouts are at the top of the page, it all begins with exercises a bit further down. Before editing or deleting exercises, we start with adding new ones, which can be of type weight or run. To add an exercise, start by clicking the "Add Exercise" button, which will open a popup asking for the type and information to go along with it.
Once all the necessary info is filled out, the exercise can be saved by clicking "Add" in the bottom left of the popup. You will now notice the exercise added to the proper table on the page. From there, you can edit the exercise or delete it by clicking the pencil and trash can, respectively. By clicking the pencil, a popup will open asking what information you would like to change and save, while clicking the trash can will open a popup asking for confirmation to delete the exercise.
Now with at least one exercise under your belt, we can look at workouts.
The basic steps for adding, editing, and deleting workouts are the same as for exercises described above. However, the information needed to make workouts is a bit different as you will notice. Since workouts center around a group of exercises, when making a new workout a dropdown is presented with a list of all your selectable exercises. On top of this, since workouts correspond to certain days of the week, you can choose which days to do it; if you do not know yet, then you can leave it blank and edit it later at your liking.
Once created, you will now notice the workout in your table of workouts and on your calendar, if you selected days of the week. From there you can edit and delete as you wish.
Under the "Profile" tab, you will find basic information about your account and have the ability to add or remove friends.
To add a friend, simply input the email corresponding to their account and click the add icon. If your friend does not have an account under that email then you will see an error alert, otherwise your new friend will appear in your profile. You can then just as easily remove them from your friends list by clicking the remove icon.
Under the "Friends" tab, you will be able to see your friends' workouts and exercises and add any you like to your account.
Adding a friend's workout is super simple! Just click the save icon next to a workout you would like to save and confirm your action in the popup. Now, if you go back to your workouts under the workouts tab, you'll notice the saved workout there with all of its exercises as well.
To logout of Sidero, simply click the logout button in the top right corner of the platform from wherever you are! Better yet, if you close Sidero while still being logged-in, then when you come back later on you will still be logged-in... magic!
