Files disappeared from local vault in ios

Summary

When working offline, files is not in local vault ios

System Setup

• iOS: [Version shown in the settings of iOS under "General > About"]17.0.3
• Cryptomator: [Version 2.4.9

I was at a place where there was no internet connection, and would show someone some pictures, which i had in pcloud. As there was no connection this did not work ofc, so i was looking for an app to save files, also in a protected fiolder. So i found cryptomator, and downloaded 50 favorites fotoes/documents to a cryptomator vault. I downloaded them and made sure that all fotoes was shown. So i deactivated internet connection and began to work with my fotoes, grouping them in different folders. while working i could still see the fotoes In the subfolder. After 1 minute, the fotoes suddenly disappeared, and i got the mess “no internet connectiion, and after 20 minutes the new folders was empty and the fotoes was not in the main folder. I also wanted to save example important documents, and cryptomator seems a good app for a protected vault.
I think it was interaction with icloud sync, i then deactivated icloud drive. I can still backup the ipad, but it says 92 apps will not backup data. I have not figured out if its my settings or what.

So i googled it and found a txt saying “ if you do not want a folder to be synced with icloud, put an extension of “ nosync” to the folder ( folder.nocsync) then icloud will not sync it.
It worked.
As i can open saved acrobat pdf files even if my internet connection is deactivated, i am not sure if it is cryptomator or icloud.
Whats more intesting, i wanted to rename a folder, and imidiatly the fotoes disppears. ( they where there, but when i switched internet off, they seemed to be already synced with the icloud, so i could not view them whith no internet. I have to create a new folder “ new folder.nosync” and then move the fotoes there, then it worked.
Next step was to create a vault “ favorites.nosync” and that seems to work.
Standard of some other apps (cloud) syncing; if the files are deleted, they will be deleted in the cloud as well. May be if icloud sync can not seee the files in cryptomator ( when its locked?) they are deleted in the icloud?
Also for any “ normal” user this “ local store should be working even if they know nothing about icloud setting.
If its icloud and not cryptomator, will you consider to put it in the documentation? ( for offline work)

3. Wait 1 minute
4. deactivate internet (wifi/mobile)
5. The fotoes can not be displayed due to “missing internet”
6. …

Expected Behavior

The fotoes to stay in the local folder

I have done everything i can to avoid using icloud for sync ( fotoes, messages, ..).even now deactivated icloud drive.
You may say it should work the other way around, but still i think cryptomator should work in offline mode on ios, even if icould is set or not.
At least just a note “working in offline mode in local vaults”
But still i do not understand the logic in detail how it works

So after some days !!! My fikes were gone. Or CM could not show them off line (without internet) did deactivate icloud sync and icloud backup, and activated internet connection, and now CM could sho w my local files, from where ?
so now i think thenfollowing happen:
Me clicking on a file
Cryptomator: no internet so i can not download any thing.

CM should say: if the file is on the device then show it, and if internet is not active do nothing more.(if internet IS active THEN its time to decide if there is a newer version).
The file does extist o my ipad, but i cant upload foles from ipad using chrome . I will later upload a file from pc.
