Dana TM4 compatibility #3

on DIYelectric, there is a dana tm4 system for sale, mentioning they have the VCU but the inverter can also be controlled by GEVCU. is this true? i looked trough the code and, unless i missed something, doesn't look like it unless i do a custom integration. which is a problem, as i don't have a dbc.
