LibreTranslator - SEO compliant webpage translator tool #15

Description

@Datata1

Story:

Language barriers can be a serious limiting factor to any website’s reach. It is a tedious and expensive task to manually maintain multiple language versions of your webpage. On the other hand existing SaaS solutions (i.e. weglot, unbabel etc.) for on-page translation are either potential compliance & data security risks or very expensive. You can self-host a LibreTranslator instance on Codesphere which you can use to translate the content on a webpage. It comes with well documented API endpoints for on demand translation. Potential concerns to addressed are user experience & speed (efficient caching, providing fixes to wrong translations, etc...).

Expectation:

  • Building a On-site translation service utilizing self-hosted translators like LibreTranslator on Codesphere.
  • For example take codesphere's blog and make it multi language with this service
  • Write a blog article on any platform you prefer e.g. Dev.To, Medium, Personal Blog) about this project showcasing the capabilities of Codesphere

Required components:

  • Libre-office translations endpoint
  • Frontend with plug-in style on page translation buttons
  • Potentially helpers for providing technical feedback (i.e. always translate x to y for company specific terminology)

Payout

  • 1000$ Codesphere credits
  • 100$ cash

comment: If you cant finish this project because of technical boundaries but you can show us what you have done and why it didn't work, then you get 50$ cash as consolation prize. So be sure to document the whole development process of this project.
