I wanted to start a discussion about a redesign for the website and if anyone had any thoughts on what direction we should be going? There are a lot of different ways we can style this site but ideally a good design would be one that places a heavy emphasis on categorization that makes it easy for the user to find a specific article of a specific topic/category.

Oh and feel free to put site examples of what might be things we can consider!

Hey so I've been looking around at designs. I actually think Tumblr Search has a pretty cool way about showing blogs.

At the top they have a giant search bar. Not sure if this is really necessary as of now but in the future it would be very nice for users to find what they want. I do like how clean the topics they have lined up at the bottom (which can be in our situation different categories).

After clicking a category it goes to here

Maybe we can go back to the grid format we used to have? Or if we want to change it up we could.

Another really awesome one is Myspace. I think its cool how they make the emphasis on the search very clear and then show a bunch of different possibilities. Perhaps we don't have to do this for search but when you select a category, this would also be a cool design.

Oh and another thing to look for are other sites that do curating! Of course a really popular one is the free-programming-books repository on github which actually ended up becoming resrc.io and I'm unsure if thats a design we want to consider. It's basically an index which may or may not be what we're going for.

These are some great examples. I don't know if it should be too much of a blog but more of a guide or I like what you said free programing book.
