We need two modes: editing mode and command mode. In command mode, you can move/delete pods/scopes (via keyboard shortcuts preferrably).

Google Slides or PPT sets the precedent when handling textboxes: if you single-click in the center, then it's editing model. If you single-click around the edge, then it's command mode. In the command mode, the cursor becomes a 4-arrow.

Google Slides isn't a good option to follow, because it is NOT a canvas, and it does NOT zoom. In CodePod, when you zoom out, the drag handle or the edges you proposed here becomes too small and thus difficult to select and drag.

The right UI to follow is Figma's. The UI in Figma is exactly this: single click to select, the whole node is draggable, and double click to edit.
