Unable to print to ClawPDF using windows apps such as Snip and Sketch, Photos, etc. #140
Comments
We did find another workstation that displays the same behavior. |
is there a link to Snip and Sketch/Photos app.? never heard of it before |
Snip and Sketch is a built in app for windows 10 managed through the Microsoft App Store. |
Photos is a separate built in windows app |
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mz95kl8mr0l https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfjbh4 please describe the steps. i want to reproduce them. |
That first link is the snipping tool which is different from Snip and Sketch. Looks like Snip and Sketch is no longer on the App Store since it’s being phased out in favor of the snipping tool. |
But on Photos, I opened up any .jpg or .png and tried to print to clawPDF from there, and the ClawPDF does not pop up as it would with other apps. |
uuhmmmm... the links i have posted helps other people to understand, which apps you mean. the first link is also the newer app. i have no idea what you see when you click on the first link but however everything works fine my system so it's not clawPDF's fault. however i am stuck again at error "send to => mail recipient" thx ms https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/send-to-mail-recipient-context-menu-not-working/7b85bf59-7485-4d87-9efa-b29477719108 answer: The Send To → Mail Recipient option needs a classic desktop email client with MAPI support, like Office Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. It will not work with Store apps like ... thunderbird from ms store. the snipping tool is gone. plan... is from snip and sketch. and ZMK is from photos |
I’ll login to the affected workstations today and see if the snipping tool cooperates. If it does I’ll probably just uninstall Snip and Sketch, so the the windows + shift + s command defaults to the snipping tool. |
Old tool: New tool: URLs look identical. The Snipping Tool had been replaced by Snip and Sketch (better known as Snipping Tool). i am using win10 |
Snipping tool works fine with ClawPDF whereas as snip and Sketch doesn’t on these workstations. Just going to move them over to the snipping tool and call it a day |
Have moved the users over to the snipping tool which works with ClawPDF, but still dealing with issues with the Photos App not allowing clawPDF to prompt to save |
We manage 400+ workstations that exclusively use ClawPDF for converting documents. We recently had a report from a user on a windows 10 22H2 device running clawPDF v0.9.3 where they could not convert documents from Snip and Sketch and Photos to PDF.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ClawPDF
Resetting the Snip and Sketch/Photos app.
Checked for updates on the MS store.
The clawPDF logs do not specify any specific errors.
If I log into this PC as a different user, the same issue occurs>
Error the user gets:
