note:

this issue is an attempt to give some context that I wasn't really sure where to put. You can close this issue, no worries, but I wanted to share my experience and this seemed like the best place to do that.

main point

Malachite is.... really good. I like it a lot. Thank you. I tried malachite on a lark, a "heh, why not?".

I'm working on a fully private currency with Malachite, and my first few days work shows:

  • it was utterly necessary to have a rust tendermint
  • rust is actually easier than Go for some things
  • rust is a lot more concise than Go
  • the lib.rs style used in rust leads to better organized code
  • I can already see how this will likely be easier to maintain than comet/tm-in-go

Since I've said I didn't know why Malachite is needed, I wanted to write and let you all know that it's fantastic. I will probably do a writeup on it.

The thing I am working on is here:

I would only ask that we try and do something about the cargo namespace issue, but from looking around it looks like you're on top of it.

questions

  • is there any specific type of feedback that you are looking for?

Again, thanks. When you all said you were being held back by technical debt and the like, you were right.

comment

using malachite gave me some of the same feelings I got when first using tendermint, specifically massive acceleration.
