Footnotes not displaying correctly

Hi,

Footnotes that I've coded into an .mdx file for [an essay](https://bcb2507.github.io/test/blog/Eben-Horsfords-Later-Work-and-the-Context-of-Eugenic-Theory-in-Academia) ([.mdx here](https://github.com/bcb2507/test/blob/main/content/blog/Eben-Horsfords-Later-Work-and-the-Context-of-Eugenic-Theory-in-Academia.mdx)) are not displaying correctly, remaining to look like code instead of hyperlinks. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
