We love open source software - because it's made by passionate builders.

As an open source project it's an incredible thrill and honor when builders in our community contribute to Ockam's codebase - whether is a feature, fix or doc

We say that

Ockam is Built on Trust

...it's also built on the shoulders of giants. We owe a lot to the contributors and maintainers of open source libraries that Ockam is dependent upon.

This is why we have started a Contributor Sponsorship Program at Ockam. Here's how it works:

• Nominate someone that is an individual maintainer or regular contributor who we should sponsor. Use this discussion thread 👇 to call out your nomination via GitHub Handle.
• To contain the scope as we launch the program we will sponsor up to 10 builders at a time. If we become over subscribed, we will rotate through nominees to spread our love around the community.
• You will need to set up a GitHub Sponsors page to accept payment
• The best nominees are maintainers of libraries that Ockam depends on: rust-lang, elixir-lang, and crypto libraries.

What open source contributors or projects should we sponsor in 2023?

At Ockam we 🩵 open source software. We've an amazing community of passionate people who are contributing to Ockam every single day. In addition though we are, like the rest of the world, beneficiaries of a huge movement. Open source software has changed the way we all build systems today.

We want to continue paying it forward. For the past couple of years we've sponsored amazing people such as @joshtriplett, @essen, @isislovecruft, @yaahc, @tarcieri, @m-ou-se, and @dtolnay... all of whom have made meaningful contributions to projects and communities we're dependent on.

We're revisiting our sponsorship program, and this time we want to shift our focus toward projects and people that are helping to change the way we build systems of the future. In particular, how we all build systems that are secure-by-design. Systems that we can trust. Systems that will make us all safer.
