Hello world! 👋

Calling all Golang and Bitcoin enthusiasts to contribute to btcd during the month of Hacktoberfest 2020! 🎉

btcd is a full node bitcoin implementation written in Go. Apart from contributing to the consensus in bitcoin network, btcd also provides basic building blocks to interact with the protocol, making it a popular choice for building Bitcoin-based applications.

We hang out on IRC at #btcd (freenode). Come say hi!

Getting started

  1. Read the contributing guidelines.
  2. Read the section "What to work on", and pick an issue that interests you. Make sure you comment here, or on the relevant issue indicating that you're going to work on it, to avoid duplication of efforts.
  3. Start hacking!
  4. Create a pull request, and work with the maintainers to get your changes merged.

What to Work On?

You're welcome to pick any open issues with the hacktoberfest label. Here's a list of topics that are suitable for Hacktoberfest.

Rules

We ask you to review Hacktoberfest's quality standards before creating a pull request. Additionally, please refrain from creating spam PRs like typo fixes or trivial changes to the documentation.
