Chromium legacy can`t load gmail anymore

What specifically happens? There are browsers based on much, much older engines which can still load gmail, so I'm almost sure a workaround can be found.

The interface is scrambled and unusable. Something similar is happening with the Chrome Web store. Screen shots attached, from Chromium v127.0.6494.0 on Mac OS 10.10.5.

These sites are fine (but slow) in other ancient browsers, like Waterfox v56.6 (2022) and official Chrome v87 (2021).

Did you find a folder to make read only responsible for this? Did you find a version that works? I have the same issue. In fact I opened a separate issue thread. I stopped at version 116.0.5845.140.1

I tried making all of the "optimization_guide_model_store" folders read-only, and that didn't help.

That only helps against crashes. Not the garbled gmail. BTW, you need to empty them too, not just make read only. And I am using 119 now because the 116 does not store passwords.

Now Google Image Search has gotten a little weird in Chromium. Not as bad as Gmail, but some of the the icons are the wrong size and in the wrong place.

I have the same issue as gpsvisualizer and davids74 above. Like Wowfunhappy stated, older versions of Chromium do display Gmail correctly, but many other websites are broken in those earlier versions, like the Marriott Vacation Club website, which will run correctly in Chromium 127. So what happened in v127 that broke Gmail, and how do I fix it? I am running Mac OS 10.12.6.
