For my Duo 3V Poe it is 1536 x 432. At least that's what VLC reports when I open the exact rtsp stream URL with it. |

For my Duo 3 the main stream only works with ffmpeg v5, v7 seems to crash almost immediately. This also seems to be true for all Reolink cameras, v7 just doesn't like some of the quirky stream data that these cameras can produce. It's also worth noting that the main stream is h265 only, and some browsers cannot playback h265 (Eg: Chrome on Linux cannot, while Chrome on MacOS , Windows, and Android can.) Not sure it will help, but, I remember I had to set the I-frame interval to 1, otherwise playing back the recordings (recorded a Synology using Surveillance Station) from the camera did not work on VLC...

@brendanobra Thanks for the report, I'm looking at the same camera model. Just a shame the main stream doesn't work yet. I'm puzzled why it doesn't work even on VLC... |

Hey All, I have a newer Trackmix PoE IPC_529SD78MP. I found that an ONVIF scan of the device in Scrypted, gave me a completely undocumented list of RTSP Streams. Maybe this will help: rtsp://whoa:password@:554/Preview_01_sub (h264 896x512 30fps) |

Better. The sensor is newer, and the included motion trigger LED spotlight seems to really help (IR is not bad either) |

Just be aware the Duo settings do not appear to work well with the Duo 2. I have yet to get it to work reliably with Frigate (with software decoding). |

I got one of these to play around with (Duo 2 WiFi version) and I am actually unable to reproduce this issue. With a setup: go2rtc:

@NickM-27 I'll go ahead and test with the latest build and the URL you are using. It seems to be working for the moment. I've noticed the issues are intermittent, so I'll go ahead and test this for a while and see how it goes. |

Okay so bit of an update to this: My above remarks were when using ethernet. I tried using WiFi and saw the same problems of frequent disconnects. I contacted support and they have provided me a more updated firmware for the camera that I am going to try to see if it resolves the issue. |

Can't speak to WiFi - I'm just using ethernet (these are PoE cameras). I will say that with the latest dev release (dev-edbdbb7) and the /Preview_01_main URL it seems to be working. Maybe go2rtc is making a difference here. I'll continue to keep an eye on it. Easiest indicator of problems is that you'll get recordings that should be an hour long in the UI, and you'll get something only a few minutes long. |

So far the new firmware I got from support seems to be working much better over WiFi as well. Using the same go2rtc setup, if you end up having problems I'd suggest asking support as it seems they have a better firmware (looks like it was built mid october) |

@brendanobra thanks for the examples. It seems like without the build in LED, It won't switch to color at night with just the street light? correct. I have few 410s and it does switch to color at night if I trigger all my porch lights which has wifi switch. Looking for low light color cameras for night time. Likely need to try Dahua with bigger sensor - hoping to find litter cheaper ones though. |

Yeah, color only appears to work when the LED spotlight is activated (which seems to work ok btw). I also have a few "dumb" motion detectors that help out a little. |

h.265 is the video codec. reolink has only ever supported aac and you need to do audio transcoding elsewhere to get other audio codecs
duo does not support 2 way audio via rtsp |

I've tried using @NickM-27 's config. I can view the camera if I click into it with Frigate. However, I just get heaps of errors as below and when you look at the main page it has the same errors about no frames others have posted. |

It looks like it was the recording issue in the end. So I disabled the main stream (H265) and just tried using the sub stream (H264) and it seems to be working. It must be the format that Frigate doesn't like. |

Frigate works fine with h265, but the reolink duo is well known for being buggy and having a poor stream implementation. I used to have one and spent weeks with reolink engineers and they were not able to fix the problem. |

Thanks for the reply @NickM-27 . I am not sure I would go as far as to say that Frigate works fine with h265, but, you usually can get it working after some serious effort and time... For this one, I am not going to bother at this stage, I will just use the sub-stream which is h264. If anyone else comes across this post, that is how I got it "working" |

Every single one of my loryta and hikvision cameras are setup with h265 and it works with basic config. No config changes or messing around was needed. |

Well I turned off UID and turned off the camers and back on and shutdown frigate and then she worked Reolink is so buggy |

Just received a Duo 3 today. My findings are that the main stream remains h265 only, which makes sense given the massive 7680x2160 resolution. I also found you can only get the ext stream from the FLV steam URL. Frigate records just fine, buy I had to install the Thorium browser to playback h265 recordings. I tried transcoding the main stream to h264, but for whatever reason this seems to cause frigate to have an issue with playback from events, while the main recording seems to stay as an h265 recording... I am not sure what is happening there since can play recordings themselves, albeit only from Thorium. Hope this helps others! *** Update: Edit: |

h265 is a cost problem. y have 2 811a (reolink) 8mp in h265 and i can view record only from my windows machine and safari on apple other not have h265 ready… |

As I understand it, the Duo 3 requires h265 for the main stream due to h264 having a 4096x4096 resolution limit. If I could, I would use two separate streams for left and right FoV from the camera and transcode to h264, but it doesn't appear to provide this. I haven't looked at the ONVIF data yet though. |

First off, I'd like to thanks the authors for this wonderful piece of software - I had various versions of my own home rolled ML security cam setup, but none of my stuff even came close to Frigate.
I'm running frigate on kubernetes (the excellent k0s flavor) with a single coral usb (took awhile to get one, so was running it on cpu for awhile, the coral was something like a 3x or 4x speedup over running on a 4 core older intel machine). Frigate is integrated with Home Assistant (also running on Kubernetes)
I recently picked up a Reolink Duo POE (Prime Day deal), which is Reolink's new-ish super wide field camera that uses compositing to combine 2 cameras into one very wide image. I was a little concerned that , due to the effect that the much larger field of view of the camera, the detection would not function as well. Fortunately, my concern was not valid - after running for a few days, it detects well, and provides the same cool zoomed in thumbnails. I am now looking at replacing most of my camera footprint (currently have 10 Reolink 410 POEs) with just a few of the Duos.
Thanks again to the authors for a high quality and well thought out product - the out of the box detail to things like a helm chart were very nice to find.
