Frigate Tip: Frigate 0.15 keyboard shortcuts

The Frigate Tips series is a collection of posts where the Frigate developers give tips on how to best configure, use, and maintain your Frigate installation.

There are a number of keyboard shortcuts available on desktop browsers to speed up common tasks in Frigate 0.15:

Review:

• Ctrl/Cmd-A selects all of your visible review items.
• The R key marks any selected items as reviewed.
• PageUp and PageDown scrolls the Review pane.
• Right click (Cmd-click on Mac) selects review items.
  • Long press on mobile devices will also select review items.

Explore:

• Ctrl/Cmd-A selects all of the visible tracked objects.
• The left and right arrow keys navigate between tracked objects when Explore is in Grid view, even when the Tracked Object Details pane is open.
• PageUp and PageDown scrolls the Explore pane.
• Right click (Cmd-click on Mac) selects tracked objects.
  • Long press on mobile devices will also select tracked objects.

Single camera live view:

• The arrow keys and + and - control a pan/tilt/zoom camera (if ONVIF is set up).
• The M key toggles muting/unmuting of the camera audio (if available).
• The F key toggles full screen view (if supported).

History view:

• The up and down arrow keys seek historical footage forward and backward by 1 second.
• The left and right arrow keys seek historical footage backward and forward by 10 seconds.
• The F key toggles full screen view (if supported).
• The M key toggles muting/unmuting of the recording's audio (if available).
• The space bar toggles playback/pause.

Logs:

• PageUp, PageDown, and the up and down arrow keys scroll the log pane.

Edit: sorry, I hadn't realised Frigate v0.15.0 (the non-beta version) had been released yet. I'll upgrade to that and will report back if the problem persists.

Explore:

• Long press or right click (Cmd-click on Mac) selects tracked objects.

This doesn't seem to be working as explained on my system.
Frigate v0.15.0-beta4 through Google Chrome for Mac, Version 132.0.6834.160 (Official Build) (x86_64)
MacOS Sonoma, 14.6.1.

• The Cmd-click on Mac (left click while holding down command key) just opens the tracked object details page.
• Long-pressing with left mouse button also opens the tracked object details page.

Right-click does work and selects an image as expected, though.

The beta4 version is old, you should upgrade to the 0.15 Release version.

Yep, just tested with v0.15.0 release version and the Cmd-click and right-click are working, but the long-press left mouse button is not working.

This is great knowledge! Should there maybe a guide setup under the guide section on the documentation page to share this knowledge and a go to as the UI evolves?

Might make sense to be somewhere in the docs but a guide tells you how to accomplish something from start to finish. This isn't really guide material more just a reference
