Crowdsourcing Traffic Monitoring

I'm working with a local citizen group to find alternatives to pressure our local government into taking action on traffic miss planning and safety issues that have gotten critical after the high inflow of tourism in the past two years.

We're considering crowdsourcing video feeds using unused smartphones, RPIs, and other hardware to gather video and data evidence.

Given that Frigate already has most of the building blocks, like connecting to video streams, recording, object detection, and tracking, we'd like to explore hiring or crowdsourcing/funding a module to support the following:

• Speed calculation feature.
• Creating an MQTT sensor for individually tracked cars and their speed for aggregation.
• Counting feature.
• Creating an MQTT sensor of the count of individually tracked cars/pedestrians in a zone.
• Camera GUI draws IN/OUT paths to count people/cars.
• Camera GUI to draw and calibrate speed-measuring segments.
• If the MQTT sensors are in place, reporting could be done outside Frigate.

We have some repositories that have implemented some portion of this, but I'm sure they'd be reusable.

Not sure if using a freelancing or crowdfunding platform wuould be a good approach.. generally we're seeking input on making this happen and taking off from the idea/need phase.
