Final Feature Goals
- Revamp the design to match the main site’s color palette, typography, and layout patterns
- Simplify question difficulty, especially around complex gene functions or terminology
- Add a tutorial that introduces players to how to play the game
- Introduce flashcards for terms users might not understand (allele, mutation, chromosome, etc.)
Feature Breakdown
1. Visual Changes
- Match color scheme and typography with the main Illumina site
- Add animations/transitions to make UI more dynamic
- Improve layout spacing and alignment for better clarity
2. Easier Questions
- Adjust difficulty curve: favor simpler questions for early rounds
- Replace or reword advanced genetic concepts
- Add “Did You Know?” feedback after each question for learning moments
3. Tutorial System
- Game System:
- Start game
- Choose difficulty
- Answer questions
- View score and leaderboard
- Include progress dots or “Next” buttons to guide users
- Allow users to skip or revisit tutorial later
4. Flashcard Integration
- Create a set of 10–20 essential gene-related term cards
- Flip animation for front (term) and back (definition)
- Context-aware suggestions during game (“Click to learn what allele means”)
- Option to browse flashcards from home screen
