How do I use CPython 3.13+?

When I try doing the following:

> rye toolchain fetch cpython@3.13
error: error while fetching Python installation

Caused by:
    unknown version cpython@3.13

I have made sure I am using the latest version of rye with rye self update:

bzm3r@bzm3r ~/jjpred (main)> rye self update

You can bring your own python with rye toolchain register <path>.

E.g.

$ rye toolchain register $HOME/.pyenv/versions/3.13.0rc3/bin/python3
Registered $HOME/.pyenv/versions/3.13.0rc3/bin/python3 as [email protected]

It seems to have some quirk when trying to register the full name:

$ rye toolchain register $HOME/.pyenv/versions/3.13.0rc3/bin/python3 --name [email protected]
Registered $HOME/.pyenv/versions/3.13.0rc3/bin/python3 as [email protected]

It registers as [email protected] if you use --name cpython, so this might be the correct approach. Not sure where 3.0 came from though. It also makes it difficult to have both rc and major version installed, but that may be intentional.

Also note, I couldn't get rye toolchain fetch <version> to work:

Wrong version fetched:

$ rye toolchain fetch [email protected]
Downloading [email protected]
Checking checksum
Unpacking
Downloaded [email protected]

Doesn't resolve:

$ rye toolchain fetch [email protected]
error: error while fetching Python installation
