ChromiumOS offline local account #347
Comments
Maybe you can create dummy account, and log out it. Btw does non chrome browser still support syncing with google account ? |
I don't know if non chrome browser supports it, but I know that I'm able to use Chromium browser & I don't need to log in. Even official Chrome browser function well without Google login - It just doesn't sync. . |
maybe we need this!!! google delete it!!! |

very much needed |
Hi. Is there a way to add to ChromiumOS a local login option?
And I don't mean Guest. I mean an account not connected & synced with Google, but completely functional - in a same way as on every Linux distro or for example - Android (even with Gapps there is a way). Even Chrome browser is usable without Google login. It's saving favourites, extensions, addons & other data, but it's not syncing this data...
Someone asked Neverwere about it, but their answer was a bit like ,,We don't want it to happen". Neverwere is owned by Google now so that makes sense...
I love the ChromeOS - I just hate Google (their hunger for data & personal stuff) & would love to be able to connect Chromebook with alternative sync (No. Not Chinesse like in FydeOS, but more to something like Nextcloud maybe...) or not sync this way at all & still use Chromebook like a Linux with nicer UI.
