I think this is a great idea, and with the next gen yaml parser just (hopefully!) a few days out, that would be the place to look at adding a new feature. |

The .asf.yml file allows you to control various settings within a repo.
It would actually be a nice idea to also utilize it for other tasks to update content or ensure that certain content is contained in the repo. Some example:
the processing would be like that the process that monitors the .asf.yml file has additional capabilities to also analyse the contents of the repo. If depending on the setting some content needs to be updated or created, a PR is being created with the necessary changes, for the project team to review and merge.
I did implement such a feature for another organization in the past and found it very useful, so wanted to also raise this issue here. If people like the idea I would certainly work on a prototype for review.
