Reading Faster on The CN0391 example on Arduino

I've successfully got the CN0391 example working, however the read speed is much lower than expected even after reducing the refresh rate and the delays. Is sampling frequency limited by the fact that this example only uses the single conversion mode of the ADC, or an I missing some other way to make it read faster?

Hi LevitasJ could you share your code please, I am having problems running this on the Teensy3.6 because the thermocouple temperature values are not comparable to the CL3512A calibrator.
and I was proposed to rewrite SPIWrite and SPIread and INIT from the ADuCM360 to get better results, But I aint a Guru and still am Struggling with the simple wright and read commands to the AD7124.
