Tag search?

is it possible to add search using tags?, example "ob #cats" for example and it will show all notes contain the tag cats

I think i can even do

ob <tags>

Show all notes with this tag

and

ob <#tags> <search>

search in this tag only

I forgot there is tags that are not in obsidian properties
adding the one inside obsidian properties will be simple but the one outside will heavily increase plugin startup time (will need to read all the file to find these # that have no space after)

never used file tag, and i do not know what that mean, do you mean the # text within the page?, if so i wouldn't really bother with that cuz who would tag their stuff like this

Okay after search and asking it seem the file tag thingy can be used to tag like specific sections of a note?, i think that's inefficient to add for a flow search plugin because if someone want this precise of a search why not just open obsidian and use the search feature itself

Yes i was talking about that (i don't use it too)
and the current tag search i have done is not using it .

With search in content that will not be useful so for now I'm only doing tag as obsidian properties.

I'm the weird one who uses tags without the properties box - simply because I think it's a little ugly or impersonal that all the files start with "Properties" at the beginning lmao
I like to have the look "it's just a sheet with nothing more" 🙈

If Obsidian removed the properties title and left only the fields below that word, I would certainly use it. I'll see if there's a way to customize it...

There must be a plugin/theme that should be able to do that or a CSS snippets maybe

the issue is not that I don't want to add tag who are in note
but more that i need to read all the file and this is an issue on performance side
and performance issue is one of the big reason i created a Obsidian plugin even if one existed before.

You made me remember that the current dev version have properties tag search
and content search so that will not be impossible to have in file tag implementation now

but since i got not so much time and motivation i didn't finish the big update i was making and not release any update even for the thing i had done
i will try to work and finish it but i promise nothing.

I was thinking about trying to do this through CSS snippets but I didn't have faith that it would work, so I got lazy and didn't do it. Then I got your answer and it served as an incentive to try lol
Yeah I edited it and it worked - I just had to edit all my pages 🫠 but now I have a "functional use of tags" for later use if I need. And with a minimal appearance:

I understand the performance issue, it's worth keeping the search fast!
I'll be waiting for the version that includes property tags in the search - I wish you motivation xD
