lack of releases

I'm trying to use this project for HDF5 with a recent HDF5Group release: 1.14.*, but even though the source repo contains the right patterns, the releases are not in any way usable due to strict version locking with the parser in hdf5-sys build.rs.

I noticed the latest release was from 2021. It appears tha the author is focused on other projects, which is their prerogative.

With the recent updates and support on issues from other developers, is there a way to empower one of them to be a steward and do release gating? The build system simply hasn't kept up with how HDF5 libs are distributed on different systems, and is thus painful to use.

Ubuntu 25.04 ships with hdf5 1.14.5, and build.rs restricts up to 12...
Just adding |14 in the Regex line makes my crate compile
