My opinion is that if the user sees that the shape is not visible, it should tell him not to use the particular color combination. If there will be something that will show the shape even though it is not visible, it might result in people not using the generator correctly and that would result in bad UX on their websites.

In my opinion, this can be enhanced by allowing the user to clearly distinguish and denote where the shape is, even if the color may be black.
