Describe Bug

The .bst file I used in the location: /usr/local/texlive/2023/texmf-dist/bibtex/bst/achemso/achemso.bst

I manually typed in 'achemso' in place of the default 'tm-plain' bibliography style before updating the document.

Expected Behavior

As described in the section '6.5.3 Compiling the Bibliography' (second paragraph, last line) from the book 'The Jolly Writer':

Native BIBTEX styles can also be used, modulo installation of the bibtex program on your computer.

There should be a way, documented in detail somewhere.
