Copying something like

Haiku ユーザーガイドへようこそ

puts the character codes into the clipboard instead

Haiku \u30e6\u30fc\u30b6\u30fc\u30ac\u30a4\u30c9\u3078\u3088\u3046\u3053\u305d

Pasting unicode characters put into the clipboard (by some native app, for example) works.
