ZONE_DEFAULT_NAMESERVERS isn't working

If you configure this list, there is an error on domain creation. "PowerDNS error: Nameserver is not canonical: ' ns3.example.com."

here it doesn't work as in: I have the configuration setting, I create a new domain, the new domain has no ns records defined.
