reflection.project.getSymbolFromReflection no longer available in plugin

I have a plugin that prevents complex types from being rendered as just ..., but that has broken in the upgrade from 0.27.9 to 0.28.0; I'm now getting

reflection.project.getSymbolFromReflection is not a function

does anyone here know what to replace this with in 0.28.0?
